Day One - Social Services Track

Social service organizations may come in contact with victims of human trafficking without realizing it, therefore losing a chance to help them escape. This conference will help provide information and guidance for social service organizations to help identify and communicate with victims of human trafficking.

By understanding a trafficking victim’s mindset – molded by coercion, violence and fear at the hands of the trafficker – social service organizations can help gain a victim’s trust so they can provide optimal care and initiate important support services to help the victim rebuild her/his life.

Trainers from Give Way to Freedom, International Justice Mission, Catholic Charities of Maine, MECASA, and others will offer tools to help social service organizations communicate with survivors of human trafficking establish trust between the provider and the survivor.

This is your call to action against human trafficking.
