To be held at the Hilton Garden Inn Riverwatch
in Auburn, Maine
The freedom, dignity and worth of others is exchanged for sex, drugs and money. It happens every day. Many say, "not here!" but IT HAPPENS HERE. Will we turn the other way and as a community of people, or will we stand together and say "Not Here" to human trafficking in the modern age?
Our second annual event will, once again, be a traditional 'conference' format, featuring national & local experts on the topic of human trafficking. It will include specialty tracks for law enforcement, health care professionals, social service agencies, faith-based organizations and community members.
We are pleased to announce a new track for 2012 - hospitality (hotels, restaurants, etc.).
All conference participants will learn how to work in partnership to combat human trafficking.
As a part of our recent "Not Here" conference on human trafficking, the APD, our community partners and our friends at Flagship Cinemas are proud to present "Sex+Money" - a documentary film that explores the realities of trafficking in the United States.
This film will be shown - free of charge - on Wednesday, November 9 at 1:00pm & 7:00pm at Flagship Cinemas in Auburn (746 Center St).
Due to mature content, must be 18 years or order to attend. This is a very powerful documentary that shines a light on the darkness of human trafficking.
